Product Features of Odin's Point-of-Sale System
Inventory Management
Stock levels can be looked up and reported at any time and are updated
with the completion of each sale. Inventory can be valued using either weighted average or
FIFO (First In First Out).
The following information is stored for each item in inventory, making
access to an item an easy task:
- Item description
- Additional user defined fields for extended description or for ISBN
- Stock level
- Different price point: Retail, Faculty/Staff, Department
- Taxable information for each price point
- Vendor
- Inventory department (e.g., Textbooks, Supplies, etc.)
- PLU
- Physical location reference (e.g., 3rd aisle, top shelf)
- Stock level to flag reorder
- Last Order information
- General Ledger account to credit sale (e.g., Bookstore Income)
Payment and customer tracking
The Odin POS allows a school to create an unlimited number of
customer types: students, faculty/staff, departments, town accounts, graduates, etc.
Different characteristics can be defined for each of these accounts. The system is capable
of
tracking the customer with a particular charge, making Department charges easy to
identify.
Schools can define the different types of payments that they wish to
accept and track. These could be debit, charge,
department charge, check, cash, credit card, etc. Sales can be tracked by different forms
of payment.
